Our new sharing program, Zigatta Cares, hit the ground running at the end of 2020 and what a time to begin the journey! Giving back around the holidays is always something we all do as individuals here at Zigatta, but in 2020, we began doing it as a team. We spent countless hours researching organizations to find the best options for our group. We decided to focus first on taking care of our neighbors, people right in our backyard, by contributing to Frisco Family Services (FFS) and Community Partners of Dallas (CPD). Frisco Family Services is an organization that helps members of our Frisco and Frisco ISD communities who are facing hunger, homelessness and other urgent needs to improve their quality of life and achieve self-suffi ciency. Community Partners of Dallas provides for the immediate and urgent needs of children who are abused and neglected in Dallas County and support caseworkers. Donating funds was at the top for both organizations, but we also wanted to do more.
Due to our world’s current state of disaster, there were restrictions on volunteering and doing any in-person interaction with the organizations, but we came up with some ideas where we could still get our hands busy as a team. FFS and CPD were highly focused on toy drives and filling Christmas wishes. They were both conveniently set up so we could participate virtually by accessing pre-set wish lists and purchasing individual gifts to be shipped directly to their facilities, safely. We took part in these virtual giving programs, filling lots of wishes for the kiddos, but we did some other really cool stuff too!
For CPD, we created Hygiene kits for the teenagers which included everything one would need from shampoo/conditioner to a compact hairbrush that fits right in their pocket. For the younger kids, we filled activity bags packed with items such as coloring/drawing supplies, small toys, and other fun things to keep them happily occupied. We also prepped goody bags for the caseworkers to have out in the field which included face masks, hand sanitizer, facial tissues, and other necessities.
For FFS, we participated in their Community Pantry program, focusing on the items listed under their urgent needs. This included a variety of cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, hygiene items, oil, flour, food items, etc. We delivered several loads to The Pantry, hoping to overstock the shelves for these families! We also filled lots of Christmas stockings with an assortment of goodies, additional Christmas shopping for their non-virtual wish lists, participated in their “Pajamas for families” program and donated countless gift cards.
Zigatta is not only in the business of connecting our clients with the best technology talent out there, but we are also a giving, sharing and caring kind of place! We take the best care of our customers, our employees, and our neighbors. We are family!
Looking forward to sharing our journey with you all, in 2021!
